The Oliver Hotel

Originally built in 1876 as the Peter Kern Bakery, the building has hosted everything from the Kern's candy counter and soda fountain, to a drugstore and a dancing hall. In 1982 the building was converted into the Blakely House Hotel to host VIP guests for the World's Fair in Knoxville, TN. Today, the property is better known as The Oliver Hotel and at 28 rooms, the hotel is the only boutique property in the city and is ideally situated right in the heart of Market Square downtown. Its style plays tribute to the building's history while offering guests rooms with charm, sophistication and modern amenities. Your stay must always include a visit or two to the award-winning Tupelo Honey Café for some homemade Pimento Cheese and Fried Green Tomatoes. Then, in the evening, slide open the concealed barn door in the lobby to find the Peter Kern Library, Knoxville's popular craft cocktail lounge.
